Deleted Scene:
"Is it Halloween?"

Another scene shot for the film but ultimately dropped from the final cut involved Batman rescuing a small girl in an alley during the escape from Joker's museum goons. Here is the scene from the script:

For years, the only visual evidence of the scene came from pictures like those shown in the movie book written by John Marriot-

And in cards from both the first and second sets of Topps Batman Movie trading cards-

But thanks to the Anthology DVD set, we now have video of at least part of this scene! This snippet was tucked away in one of the documentaries and is easily missed in the set:

  1. I still can't comprehend why this awesome little scene didn't make it to the theatrical cut... Really too bad.

And imagine how devastated the little actress must've been when she finally saw the finished film back in the summer of 1989. Poor girl.

    1. I was thinking the same thing. That alone, makes it a dick move to cut it out. It must have lasted less than a minute too.

  2. I've always sworn (my brother too) that the theatrical cut I saw in 1989 contained this scene. Prior to this clip, Batman shields the girl from the Goons gunfire with his cape, before carrying her to safety.
