1992 was a great year to be a Batman fan... Batman Returns hit theaters, Batman The Animated Series ruled television, and Batman merchandise dominated stores. Today's post gives a great reference for just how prevalent Batman items were back in '92. The licensing firm LCA Entertainment created this large pamphlet (10" x 13.5") to get retailers pumped up for Batman items coming from the bevy of companies listed. "Don't Be Left Out In The Cold... Special Feature: Warner Brothers Batman '89 Licensing Concept Art

In order to maintain a consistent look across different forms of merchandising, a company will often create art internally for licensees to use on their products. Today's post showcases many of the licensing concepts Warner explored for Batman. These images would have been used on things like T-shirts, notebooks, trading cards, and stickers.

A quick note about the watermarks- As you can see, I went a bit heavier with the watermarking on these images than I usually do here at the site. Unfortunately, the theft of exclusively shared images, removal of watermarks, and unauthorized re-posting that is occurring at places like the Batman Anthology Wiki has forced this. If the same thing happens with these images, it will mean less and less sharing here at the page. I urge you as fans to please be considerate of the deals in place that allow me to host these images here, and to take a stand against the places that ignore it. Stealing doesn't help any of us.

After what seemed like an eternity, Hot Toys has FINALLY made good on their promise of 1/6th scale Batman Returns figures! Up first is MMS 293- Batman as seen in Batman Returns!



















Also available is MMS 294, which features the Batman we just looked at PLUS a Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne figure, extra stand, and torn cowl accessory piece (allowing you to recreate the final moments of the film! While I think the Keaton head could be better, keep in mind this is a prototype and may change before production.
